Rome 2009

 One day every year, tourists vanish from the streets to be replaced by hordes of marathon runners. On the 22nd of March it’s time for the Rome marathon again. The marathon’s course passes many of the city’s sights. You can, of course, take part, but it’s also fun to watch lazily from the sidelines!

If you would rather wait to visit the city of Gladiators until the sun has gained more power – which means April / May…Rome celebrates the beginning of spring every year on May 1. The celebrations have been held at Piazza San Giovanni since 1989 and revolve around a gigantic music festival which attracts lots of national and international press and musicians. It’s one of the major events on Rome’s calendar. Celebrate it together with thousands of other party goers!
